Unlocking the Inconvenient Truth about Divine Sovereignty — Here is What Changes the Narrative of Accountability and Responsibility Going beyond Transparency

According to Book of Genesis, before God created human species, universe, galaxies, water, sky, light and darkness were all created first. Just before Adam’s moment of birth, God paused and said: “It was good” (Genesis 1:25). Then right after God created His image to govern all his creations, God said: “It was very good” (Genesis 1:31). Do you notice the difference of tone? Of course you do! It’s the obvious contrast of “good” versus “very good” that inadvertently and un-mistakenly hands over to us the authority of stewardship from God. We can also sense the importance of God’s assignment to rulers that carry heavy weight of responsibility. Our planet belongs to divine sovereignty, perhaps should be maintained and treated with due respect rightfully deserved. For our very own survival, we need to respond accordingly to the divine stewardship assigned to each one of us from the day we were created. Empty words without action will not save our planet from the illusion of good intent without substance.

For decades and decades if not centuries, filled with empty commitment along with fake intent, the inconvenient truth remained tossed aside silently and conveniently. We came up with excuses piled up in mountainous proportions, anything from minimizing corporate financial risks, to compromising compliance in environmental regulations, all the way to fiscal responsibility from the elected official agenda disguised as taxpayer interests. When it comes to natural phenomena such as climate change, intense droughts, water scarcity, severe fires, rising sea levels, flooding, melting polar ice, catastrophic storms, declining biodiversity, carbon admission and greenhouse effect, on and on … and what have you, we acted as if solutions to these problems are optional beyond reach.

How about shifting our perspective a little bit further? We all know God’s wisdom is beyond our understanding. On that basis, even with the most powerful human kingdom ever existed in biblical times; ‘King Solomon’ fell down in humbleness and bowed in front of the Almighty Lord and asked for God’s ‘wisdom’ [1 Kings 3]. And yet, in extraordinary time that requires extraordinary measure, God demonstrated to us that foolishness of God is wiser than any human wisdom ever existed. In many instances, God has shamed the so-called wise-men with foolishness, so that no one can boast before God.

Divine foolishness? You might ask? Absolutely! Original text in [1 Corinthians 1:25,27,28,29], it says: “²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸ God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, ²⁹ so that no one may boast before Him.”

The foolishness of God might very well manifest itself as a means of tracking our progress, which goes beyond what any business scorecard or performance metrics could ever achieve. For thousands of years in biblical times, God has engaged his dialog with us, incidents after incidents, just to tell us: “I told you so”. But always get quickly dismissed as God’s anger, His act of tough love, or a reaction of divine perfection out of reach. But in reality, it all boils down to our lack of ‘discipline’ and ‘obedience’.

What if we can apply God’s foolishness in a practical way to resolving the challenges of inconvenient truth? Now, let’s get real here, and let’s not pretend that this is a trivial task, the reality is far more brutal than what we think we might be able to handle. Our roles need to be defined with proper perspective; divine sovereignty involves responsibility from all levels, which means it needs to work under the premise that every single one of us on this planet is willing to take action as a collective and cohesive effort.

This also means whichever corporate titans happen to survive the fierce competition both in technology and financial strength will become the final contenders, these successors will have to carry the heavy burden of responsibility and accountability, and taking leadership in moving human kind forward guided by God’s principle.

On the surface level, God’s foolishness may very well involve accepting human limits as stumbling blocks or bottlenecks to His timeline, working to comply with business performance metrics, ensuring corporates will not collapse due to financial risks. This may also require navigating public jurisdictions and regimes, surviving after the dust is settled in managing internal corruption, lying beneath the hidden agenda and unspoken rules benefiting the lobbying groups behind the scene. Also provided that we can somehow manage to survive cleaning up the mess caused by financial fraud and scam, disguised or camouflaged as legitimate funding allocated for fake social causes, recovering budgets earmarked and approved by corrupt cabinet officials with close ties to conspiracy groups, operating underground behind the scene. All these are villains working against public transparency without accountability.

God is constantly anticipating an opportunity to do the impossible, simply because the mere act of impossibility always outshines us with God’s glory. ([Matthew 19:26], Jesus said: ”With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”)

Given all the restraints that foolishness of God needs to navigate, how about laying out both strategic approach with tactical solutions without the hype of cheap talk with empty words.

Navigating Strategic Fraud
Concealed Behind Deception

Preventive measures in providing guardrail for prudent discernment typically started with hindsight after careful observation, observation leads to speculation, speculation turns into investigation, investigation drives clarity. And Oh… clarity is brutal! Clarity demands truth, and ‘Truth’ itself can singlehandedly dismantle the whole false narrative of deceit in its entirety and often in real time.

It’s important that we should keep our awareness widely alert when it comes to strategic fraud in deception. Let’s review some of these measures that could be put in place if done properly:

Creative Accounting (disguised as Financial Re-Engineering)

It’s crucial to be able to identify potential malpractice in Creative Accounting early in the process, so that negative consequences can be avoided.

Creative Accounting is a sneaky process which, if used in a clever way, offers a perfect excuse to institutions in disguising themselves as victims of circumstances, and conveniently avoiding financial responsibility at the same time.

At the other end of the spectrum, Creative Accounting can provide organizations a variety of aggressive maneuvers to make their financial performance appear more favorable, hence artificially inflate their equity value using numerous trickeries as follows:

• • Revenue Recognition: Booking sales before products are delivered or bundling unrelated products together to inflate short-term earnings
• • Asset Valuation: Overstating the value of intangible assets or goodwill to make the balance sheet look stronger
• • Expense Manipulation: Shifting current-period operating expenses into long-term capital assets to make profit margins appear wider than they actually are
• • Depreciation Tweaks: Extending the estimated useful life of equipment or changing depreciation methods to artificially lower reported expenses
• • Off-Balance-Sheet Items: Hiding debt or liabilities in separate entities to make the company look less leveraged

Money Laundering

Money Laundering is another type of fraud not so easily detected; it can show up as a process of concealing origins of money, obtained through criminal activity to make it appear as though it came from legitimate sources. It can also come from distancing funds from illegal source through complex layers of financial transactions.

Money Laundering can come in many forms:

• • Initial entry of dirty money into the financial system, often disguised as cash deposits or transactions in asset purchasing
• • Distancing funds from illegal source through complex layers of financial transactions, via wire transfer or purchasing high-value real estate or art items
• • Once the fund gets deposited into the financial system, criminal spending or investing in legitimate economy can avoid suspicion
• • Misrepresenting price, quality, or quantity of goods in international trade to move value across borders
• • Using digital assets such as ‘Cryptocurrency’ to obscure the digital trail of transactions

Embezzlement

Embezzlement is a fraud that involves representatives entrusted by institutions or organizations with assets or funds, which have been legally re-allocated or misused for personal gains. Embezzlement can be manifested in one or more of the following means:

• • Breach of Fiduciary Duty: Perpetrator is legally permitted to manage or handle assets by converting them for unauthorized or personal use
• • Concealment: Often involving systematic manipulation or falsification of accounting and financial records to hide the missing funds
• • Scale and Duration: Involving a single large transaction, frequently siphoned small, incremental amounts over a long period of time to evade detection

Merger and Acquisition

Fraud in Mergers and Acquisitions involves deliberate deception such as manipulation of financial statements, concealing hidden liabilities, or falsifying revenue, for the purpose of artificially inflating a target organization’s value prior to sale. Early detection and identifying these misrepresentations is critical, otherwise consequences of severe financial loss will follow.

Strategic Positioning

Once we move beyond the handling of strategic deception, we now come to the point where strategic approach that drives positive results only makes sense now with clarity. And clarity only works well without hidden agenda or unspoken rules behind the scene.

In delivering solutions to protect divine sovereignty, we need to walk through a delicate task with a deliberate mandate of carefully navigating risk management, implementing strategies with tactical approach, and identifying scope with clarity.

Risk Management

To align with God’s objective of success, we need to exercise discernment with genuine care of progress, which requires encompassing a series of strategies and techniques with which organizations tend to use in order to minimize, monitor, and control the probability of unfortunate events happening by accidents. These techniques fall into four basic categories:

• • Risk Avoidance: Eliminating the risk entirely by withdrawing from or choosing not to engage in a catastrophic way. In a practical sense, organizations should re-evaluate whether an initiative would fall in line with their core competency aligning their expertise with capital resource available to them. For instance: a startup firm engaging in a sustainable energy project may not be feasible due to implication of lacking required resources even though it may sound revolutionary attempting to fulfill a divine mission
• • Risk Mitigation: Taking steps to minimize the severity of loss or the likelihood of risk occurring. For example: a large scale of commitment in targeting “Climate Change” is visionary at sight, but extremely challenging in implementation. But what if the overall scope can be micro-managed by allocating responsibilities to various sub-contractor firms, each carried with unique expertise capable of delivering fractions of solution. For instance: one firm can handle flying drones collecting data from all types of weather scenarios: hurricane, tornado, storm, typhoon, flood, drought, snow avalanche, etc… Another firm may be providing IT infrastructure allowing real-time data depository and instant access. Third firm responsible in data analytics providing research insights. Fourth firm may be responsible in providing the actual solutions of neutralizing the damages of climate change, with AI agents making decision on precisely what biochemical agents with the right amount should be released to the atmosphere delivered by flying drones; thereby completing a conglomerate network of problem solving for “Climate Change”. This approach also opens up opportunities for small enterprises with the right talents and ambition to level up the playing field, and simultaneously allowing transparency going beyond systemic measure, shifting the paradigm closer to fair competition the way it should be
• • Risk Transference: Transferring risks by collaborating efforts from both private and public institutions, leveraging on mutual exclusive knowledge base and practical experience, and simultaneously alleviating potential financial loss while pursuing the desired objective and common goals
• • Risk Acceptance: Last but not least, when push comes to shove, we may have to accept the risks of dealing with the challenge head-on in the absence of otherwise available alternatives, possibly even with our anticipation of potential financial loss

Implementation of Solutions

Solutions must be implemented with tangible and achievable outcomes in substance, not in vague terms, following S.M.A.R.T approach:

• • S – Specific: Specific tasks must be clearly articulated in absolute, concise, and unambiguous terms. For example, “climate change solution” is a vague term, whereas “solution to eliminate drought on farmland” is a specific and potentially achievable objective
• • M – Measurable: Include concrete criteria for measuring progress; outcome of the solutions should be able to survive the verification and validation of an independent Quality Assurance firm, which should be carefully vetted not to be an affiliate of the solution provider, an arm-length business deal to ensure fairness preventing conflicts of interest
• • A – Achievable and Attainable: Objective should stretch potential capabilities but remain plausible, taking into account available resources and constraints
• • R – Relevant and Realistic: Focus on goal that really matters, ensure solution aligns with broader objectives, and makes sense even with current constraints
• • T – Time-Bound: Set clear target date or deadline to create urgency. It’s wise to set up deliverables in iterative fashion within manageable timeline. Carefully design solutions to be delivered in separate stages without single point of failure. This also drives accountability from solution providers, if result promised but not delivered within a well-defined timeline, legal actions can be taken, or compensation terms of the contract can freeze at a certain maximum level. In this event, it will create opportunities for other contenders to bid and complete the work without major financial loss

Scopes and Deliverables

Scope of solutions can be delivered in 4 stages:

1. Stage 1: Rural Level
   First trial is an attempt to construct a prototype or MVP (Minimum Viable Product), targeting farmland areas where climate change can easily affect the food supply chain, neutralizing damages caused by potential droughts, flood, tornado, or hurricane.
2. Stage 2: Municipal Level
   Once we have a proof of concept verified from stage 1, a more scalable approach can be deployed to target metropolitan areas, where carbon admission, air pollution and greenhouse effect seem persistently lingering
3. Stage 3: Domestic Level
   Further expanding scalability beyond local impacts to national implications, minimizing negative effects from intense droughts, water scarcity, severe fires, rising sea levels, flooding, melting polar ice, catastrophic storms, and declining biodiversity.
4. Stage 4: Cross-Regime Level
   Once we have developed a set of apparatus well equipped to tackle climate change beyond conceptual levels. Negotiation can be engaged with other jurisdictions for effective deployment on international scenes.

Conclusion

Now that we have carefully defined guideline with proper boundaries to address requirements from corporate performance metrics, as well as fulfilling fiscal responsibility required from all levels of jurisdictions, we have no more excuses not to protect God’s sovereignty. It’s about time we go out there in the real world, and confront those challenges with genuine urgency.

Let this thought sink in for a while: Do we really love Christ the way we always claim? Or do we pretend that talk is cheap and should stay on the surface level? Or perhaps, deep inside our consciousness, avoiding or dismissing His love would be too convenient? Or maybe the cost of our responsibility is too overwhelming? Or perhaps we are finally realizing that avoiding our responsibility will lead to accountability unimaginable? Regardless of our conviction, it’s still undeniable to see that everything will eventually unfold as inevitability; perhaps we still hang on to our innate narrative of stagnation, echoing the illusion that the best we can do is to keep our fingers crossed, and hopefully, the worst will somehow vanish without notice. Spoiler alert: We need more than luck to sustain this narrative.

As corny as this may sound, God’s love will never go out of fashion; neither will it diminish from lack of trends, likes, or influences on your social media accounts.

The real question is: Will we ever mess it up with our very own makings again, again and again? We might; but not if we take courage to embrace ‘divine foolishness’ head-on, and not if we take actions sooner rather than later.

We came into this world with nothing, and we will also leave with nothing anyway; whether we like it or not. While we are still on this journey, how about leaving behind something we can truly be proud of, a legacy meant to be aligned with divine purposes.
